System Overview
Roamers often experience the annoying problem of call failures due to numbers stored in the phone book in national format. This also applies to service shortcodes such as voice mail, operator call center, and prepaid top-up service numbers. The visited network does not recognize such numbers and drops the call. To make matters worse, these numbers may also be in use in the visited network, and calls are connected to services on the visited network.
Platform Architecture
For outbound roamers, the RCA service is triggered by the SSF/MSC for all MO call attempts made during roaming, regardless of the dialled B-number. If the B-number is already in the correct international format, the platform simply continues the call. If the B-number is a national format MSISDN or HPLMN short code, the platform replaces the corrected international format of the B-number.The RCA service can be provided as a public network service which is enabled by default for all outbound roamers. Alternatively, it can be offered as a subscription-based service enabled by the subscriber opt-in. The RCA for inbound roamers also use of O-CSI injection. The probe nodes inside the solution detect when an inbound roamer registers in the network and the RCA platform will insert a temporary O-CSI profile for this subscriber to the visited MSC with a fake MAP InsertSubscriberData (ISD) operation.The platform produces CDR records for each call it processes.
